I've always been fascinated by the use of film to capture a moment. Not only images, but the combination of sound, visuals and editing to freeze the essence of a moment forever. It can aid memory and retention of special times that might otherwise be lost.
On this page is a selection of films I've created over the years for my own joy and memory.
Listen to Time
An exploration of my local environment during the covid lockdowns of 2020, taking an interest in the little things that go unnoticed in the whirlwind of normal life.
Camber '21
A look back at summer train rides and the one sandy beach of the otherwise rocky Kent coast. Summer '21, but which century?
Storms at Samphire Hoe
A thin strip of land hemmed in on one side by the sheer white cliffs of Dover and an electric rail line, and on the other by the relentless English Channel.
The cliffs were blasted by gunnpowder in 1843 to create the Dover to Folkestone railway, then in the 1980's and 90's the land that would become Samphire Hoe nature reserve was reclaimed from the sea during the digging of the channel tunnel.
Snow Day - 2021
Even in lockdown there's little moments to enjoy. A day of snowfall and crisp cold air. I found some magic and took my camera out to capture it.
